Naruto … The Hokage

By Justin Cepeda and Mr WEquil … First project at WEquil.School through our “Writing Class”. Presented on the “Games and the Future of Entertainment” Demo Day on October 23, 2021.

Naruto is a Japanese TV show by Masashi Kishimoto. The main character is Naruto Uzumaki, a boy ninja who wants to be recognized by his friends as a leader in his village. He wants his friends to look up to him. Eventually he does become the leader of the village, but he had to work really hard to achieve his goal.

In this article I am going to share with you three things…

  1. Why I like this show

  2. Naruto’s family

  3. The meaning of Hokage

I address each section below.

Why I like this show

Naruto reminds me a bit of myself. He wants his friends and the village to see him as a leader. I also want to be seen as important like a leader. When he was four years old an older kid told him he would never become the leader of the village. But he worked really hard and became the leader. One reason I like this show, because it shows that you can achieve your goals if you don’t give up.

Naruto’s Family

Naturo’s parents died when he was a baby. You can see a picture of his family below. The women with the red hair is his mom and the man on the right is his dad.

Naruto’s family is below. His wife Hiata is on the left. His daughter is the one with black hair third from the left. Her name is Himawari.

Boruto is Naruto’s son (top right and bottom). You can see his picture below. I like Boruto because he saved his dad. That took courage! Another thing I like is he is very smart.

If you are interested in learning more about characters in Naruto I found this link.

Hokage

The literal meaning of Hokage is Fire Shadow. In the show, Hokage is a title bestowed on the village's leader. That is important because Naruto is trying really hard to be a Hokage. The picture below shows the Japanese characters for the word Hokage as it is used in the TV show.
