In this article Skylar, Dylan, and Alexa will be sharing with you their project: an avocado plant! An avocado is a type of fruit. An avocado plant has roots, a stem, and leaves. It will eventually turn into a tree with roots, a trunk, leaves, and avocados! To start growing an avocado, first, you need to get the seed from inside of the avocado. Then put it in a cup of water and let it soak overnight. Peel the skin off of the seed when the night is over. When the avocado seed is ready, you have to put it in a damp paper towel and put the paper towel around it. Put it in a plastic bag and leave it on a window sill. When the root gets big enough, get a jar or a vase and fill it with water then put the avocado seed on top. If it's in a wide jar, put toothpicks inside the avocado seed and make sure it's stable!
Now we are going to share with you why we decided to create a project about the avocado plant and why it is important! We got the idea of planting something when we were watching people plant different stuff on youtube and we wanted to plant an avocado tree because avocados are our favorite food! It's awesome to see an avocado grow because it's a cool way to learn about the parts of the plant and how to grow fruits. You can save money when the avocados are ripe! You can also just pick it off of the avocado tree! Avocados are healthy and they help your heart. You also learn the life cycle of plants! Thank you for reading our article about our avocado plant!
