Five Pillars of Wellness

In this article I will be talking about the five pillars of wellness. First, what is wellness? Wellness is everything you do to achieve a healthy mind and a healthy body. The five pillars of wellness are 1 nutrition, 2 exercise, 3 relationships, 4 sleep, and 5 meditation. In this article I will share with you the ways my family achieves a healthy mind and a healthy body.

First I am going to share with you two key things that we do to have a healthy and nutritious diet. Number 1 exercising will power, you want to exercise as little will power as possible one of the ways to achieve this is to not have unhealthy foods at home. Because if you have unhealthy food at home you have to exercise willpower all the time whereas if you don’t have unhealthy food you only have to exercise willpower once a week when you go to the grocery store. Number 2 simple and easy recipes. Me and my family used to order food a lot because we are busy and ordering food does not take a lot of time. So because we usually do not have a lot of time to spare for cooking we decided to do a little research on simple, healthy, and quick recipes, for example riced cauliflower or stir fry vegetables.

Next I am going to share with you how I combine two of the pillars of wellness exercise relationships. Here are three examples of ways I build relationships and stay active at the same time. 1 swimming with my friends, 2. Jumping on my trampoline with them, and 3. Sword fighting with my friends. Just to get to the point of exercising as little will power as possible I schedule weekly playdates with my friends and schedule classes with them.

Lastly, I am going to share with you the last two pillars of wellness meditation and sleep. These two pillars are perhaps the most fundamental pillars of wellness and here's why. First, why is sleep so important? My mom sometimes likes to say that sleep is the elixir of life. One of the things I noticed is that not having enough sleep greatly affects two other pillars: relationships and exercise. Why is meditation important? Well meditation is probably the most important because it helps with all four of the other pillars of Wellness Nutrition, exercise, relationships, and sleep. When I do meditation It is usually before bed because I find that it helps me fall asleep. There are lots of different ways you can do meditation but you always have to be focusing on one thing and you have to be in the moment.

In this article I talked about the five pillars of wellness nutrition, exercise, relationships, sleep, and meditation.
