Changing the Face of Education- Forever

My prayer is that the face of education changes- forever.

Inequities in our school systems have come to light, and we can now see more clearly than ever that our children are not receiving equal opportunities for a quality educational experience.

Natasha K. Warikoo, a professor of sociology at Tufts University who has spent her career researching racial and ethnic inequality in education, explains, "The COVID-19 pandemic has created or exacerbated inequality that already exists in education—and really in American society... Families who are disadvantaged are experiencing economic hardship, food insecurity, and lack of access to technology, all of which hinder their access to remote learning."

Now what if we can change this- forever?

What if every child in America could experience 1:1 support with a live mentor and content expert?

What if every child was truly seen and supported through their individualized needs?

With virtual learning and with diverse educational companies like Mrs. Evelyn Educates, this can happen.

It's time to think about how we can advocate for families with greater needs as a society and through policy changes. It's time to think about how citizens can advocate for their own towns and communities to ensure that everyone has access to a computer. It's time to think about coming together with your neighbors and volunteering in your community to ensure that every child has a trusted adult at home to provide safe support while students learn and thrive in a meaningful, robust manner online.

I believe that education is best received in a 1:1 format and that socialization is best created and fostered through experiencing diverse interactions through play, worship, sports, the arts, and volunteer opportunities.

Will Covid-19 and racial justice unite us and create equal opportunities for every child and teen to learn 1:1?

I pray so.

Lots of love,

Mrs. Evelyn Educates
