Blend and Mix Smoothie Challenge!

Updated: Jul 16, 2021

By Aila WEquil

Hello WEquil Families!

Thank you for helping me give WEquil.School families a chance to discover their perfect smoothie, and learn about economics! In this article you will learn about my new Startup Blend and Mix, how I'm turning problems into opportunities, and how you can participate in the new Blend and Mix Smoothie Challenge!

Sumay's Problem :(

You may have heard that my big sister Sumay recently got braces. She is in a lot of pain (clearly) and can't chew food :(

But as we shared with a team of local Girl Scouts recently ... entrepreneurs learn to see every problem as an opportunity!

My new startup ... Blend and Mix ... is a Flutter App that allows subscribers to receive a smoothie of their design every week. Users start from five awesome default smoothie recipes...then iterate and improve them by sliding ingredient bars in the app!

We will be franchising Blend and Mix so WEquil.School families can teach their kids how the economy works through running their own small business. Interested parents are welcome to sign up by emailing me at WEquil.School@gmail.com. Just put "Blend and Mix" in the subject line and indicate that you want to use our app to create perfect smoothies in your neighborhood!

Blend and Mix Smoothie Challenge!

WEquil.School parents and other interested families have been sharing their favorite smoothie recipes. I'll be making them for Sumay to try so we can pick the best ones as defaults for the app! If you have other suggestions besides those below please email me at WEquil.School@gmail.com

Participants in our challenge!

1. Amy Smith - Alton Browns Buff Smoothie

2. Amy K - Snickers Smoothie

One of our favorites is called a snickers smoothie we put Your Super mix’s in it (which we love) but you could try it without the mix. SNICKERS PROTEIN SHAKE INGREDIENTS: - 1 tbsp Plant Protein mix - 2 tsp Chocolate Lover mix - 1 cup almond milk - 1 banana - 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter DIRECTIONS: 1. Blend all of the ingredients until smooth. 2. Pour into a glass. 3. Enjoy! I wouldn’t hesitate to put a bunch of fresh spinach leaves and I always love to add hemp hearts to all my smoothies after they are blended. It adds a yummy chewy texture abd they are so healthy.

Our basic smoothie recipe is about 1 c plain or vanilla yogurt, frozen strawberries, orange juice to almost reach the top of the strawberries. Blend until drinkable or spoonable if you prefer. For variety we add whatever fruit is around and convenient, maybe even a carrot and a handful of spinach.

My go to is 2 c. spinach, 7 frozen strawberries, 1/2-1 frozen banana, 7 baby carrots, 1 c. frozen fruit mix from costco that is mango, pineapple strawberry mix. put 1-2 cups of liquid (I usually do half water and half juice)
